
What is the Classes Internationales programme?
This is an innovative integration curriculum for international students wishing to study in France, at Aix Marseille Université (amU). These students benefit from a preparatory year that enables them to acquire some knowledge and skills they need to then join a French-taught Bachelor's degree.
This preparatory year, within the University Language Centre (SUL), includes:
• French intensive courses (24 hours per week)
• Disciplinary and methodology courses facilitating integration into the first year of Bachelor (5 to 10 hours per week)
• Immersive cultural activities to discover French life and customs
Who is it for?
The Classes Internationales are designed for international students of non-European nationalities who do not have the necessary language skills to study a Bachelor's degree in French:
• High school students
• People of all ages who wish to return to higher studies, at Bachelor level
Pre-admission into a Bachelor's degree
The Classes Internationales programme provides a privileged access to some of our degrees within the Faculty of Science (FDS), Faculty of Economics and Management (FEG) and Faculty of Law and Political Science (FDSP).

As part of this programme, students benefit from a whole range of personalized services offered by the International Student Welcome Division of the University's International Relations Office (DRI).

We pre-book an individual room for you in one of the CROUS university residences of the Schuman Campus (for around €255/month, provided that you have completed the necessary formalities in time). | We will take charge of you as soon as you arrive in France offering airport pickup and transport to accommodation, as well as integration and welcome activities to meet other students, familiarise with the campus and discover the region. | We also provide you with individualized support before your arrival and throughout your stay at amU, particularly with administrative formalities (immigration, registration(s), health, banking/insurance, practical and university life, etc.). |
Tuition fees
The cost* of the Classes Internationales preparatory year is 5,500 euros. It includes the language and disciplinary courses offer, as well as the welcome and support services.
For the following years of study, students must pay Aix Marseille Université registration fees. Please note that different fees apply depending on your profile. Find out more!

How to apply?
Step 1: Choose your degree and find out about its prerequisites;
Step 2: Submit your complete application before April 30, 2025 at: classes-internationales@univ-amu.fr;
Step 3: The Programme Coordinator reviews all applications and selects the students who will join the programme;
Step 4: If your application is accepted, receive your admission letter on May 16, 2025;
Step 5: Upon receipt of this letter, begin your visa application process through the Études en France portal;
Step 6: Once you have your visa, pay the registration fees which amounts to 5,500 euros.

To apply for the Classes Internationales, ensure that your application (to be sent before April 30, 2025) includes all the mandatory documents listed below (documents no. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8). Please note that it will be considered incomplete if one of these documents is missing.

- Completed and signed application form (please attach a photo in the upper left corner)
- Passport or other valid ID
- Photo

- Other diploma(s) obtained (optional)
- Marksheets for all high school years (please include predicted score for last year if the marksheet is not yet available)
- CV in French
- Motivation letter/cover letter in both French and English
- Recommendation letter (optional)
- Any other supporting document (optional)
