Student Involvement Program

Student Involvement Program

Program 3 of the France 2030 IDeAL project , the Student Involvement Unit aims to stimulate, accompany, support and enhance students' social actions. This unit is based on a service-learning approach, with academic supervision and support.

Student engagement

It is defined as an individual or collective initiative carried out within an organization (association, company, local authority, public service or the University itself), which benefits from academic supervision and has a societal impact.

It can cover societal challenges such as solidarity, sustainable development, promoting culture and sport, widening access to higher education or disseminating scientific knowledge and culture to the general public.

An ambition

Thanks to its service-learning approach, the Student Involvement program aims to enrich our students' educational experience, develop their skills and strengthen their sense of belonging to a committed community.

A program based on 4 pillars:

1.VALUING STUDENT INVOLVEMENT
This program takes the form of the University Diploma (DU) in Involvement. Currently in an experimental phase, it will officially open at the start of the 2025-2026 academic year on the E-candidat platform.

It is aimed at all students wishing to combine an intellectual approach with the ability to act/be useful in the local community. It facilitates integration into professional life and provides students with practical tools.

2. Raising awareness of commitment
The Festival of Commitment:
The Festival of Commitment aims to raise awareness among students of the need to get involved in missions with a societal impact, and to promote this commitment. The event took place over 3 dates:

  • October 10, 2024 at St-Charles

  • October 17, 2024 at Luminy

  • November 13, 2024 at Aix-en-Provence

The village des assos enabled students to discover the many ways in which they could get involved with civil associations, student associations, local authorities or even players such as the fire department or the army. Students were also able to discover the exhibition on committed alumni and enjoy a festive evening.

Mon action en 180s :
The "Mon action en 180 secondes" challenge took place online on November 19. This event is aimed at students who have carried out or are about to carry out a committed action or project with a positive social impact. They will have the opportunity to pitch their action live in just 3 minutes, with the help of a PowerPoint slide, then answer questions once the presentation is finished.

It's an opportunity for them to showcase a project, publicize their commitment and/or their association, but also to meet other committed students in order to create links or even partnerships.

The two big winners of the 2024 edition are the EYAS project and the student association EMASSI!"

3.CREATING PARTNERSHIPS
The Student Involvement Unit aims to create partnerships with the local network of committed players, so that students can become fully involved in missions with a societal impact and become local players themselves.
Through these partnerships, the Student Involvement Unit facilitates:

  • the search for volunteers

  • the dissemination of communications such as volunteer opportunities and partner events

  • the participation of students in events

  • the establishment of links between local players, including student associations.

4.SUPPORTING PROJECTS
Financial support is offered to students presenting projects with a social impact. We sit on the FSDIE committee and put together calls for projects (to come) to support committed student initiatives.
