Major scientific advances involve a certain amount of risk-taking. By supporting, through calls for projects, cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research that is integrated into its environment, the A*Midex Foundation contributes to the emergence of innovative science, capable of responding to the societal challenges of the present and the future.

Call for projects - Research category
The call for proposals "Generic Research 2022" call for proposals is intended to recognize and encourage innovative approaches whose aim is to give a significant boost to ambitious emerging or exploratory scientific projects that are favorably positioned in the national competition and that present original objectives.

The call for proposals "EQUIPMENT Research" call for proposals supports research units on the Aix-Marseille site that wish to acquire new structuring equipment to develop and strengthen their capacity to implement their research programs . This call for projects is part of the A*Midex Foundation's "EQUIPEMENT Formation Recherche" program, which has a budget of €12 million for the period 2022-2024. Following the launch of the "Research Component" in 2022, the "Training Equipment" call for projects will be launched in early 2023.

The call for projects "Interdisciplinarity" call for proposals recognizes original and relevant interdisciplinary combinations: capitalize on results already successfully obtained by the carrier team and strongly enhance the potential socio-economic impact.

The "Emergence & Innovation" call for projects fully encourages risk-taking in the context of scientific approaches engaged in unexplored research fields: to bring out new knowledge and identify the potential impact, fundamental and/or applied.

The "Incubator of Excellence" call for projects encourages seed projects for the benefit of disciplinary or interdisciplinary research: stimulating innovative, creative, collaborative and high-quality initiatives and sparking new partnerships with social-economic and/or cultural actors.
