The scientific culture unit of Aix-Â鶹tv is dedicated to sharing knowledge between science and society. Throughout the year, it organizes meetings between university researchers and the public in the form of workshops or events, on and off campus.
The program dedicated to schoolchildren takes the form of workshops to introduce and raise awareness of science and research, but also during important events such as the Chercheur.se meetings in the classroom

1. Principle
The AMU Workshops are introductory and awareness-raising workshops where students discuss research work, experiment, ask questions... The class is divided into two groups that alternately follow two workshops whose themes are chosen by the teacher in conjunction with the mediators who coordinate the activity.
These workshops have been designed and are led by teacher-researchers and doctoral students who are specialists in the topics covered and who have received training in scientific mediation. The proposed themes vary each year according to the involvement of researchers: environment, health, society, matter, logic...
Objectives of the workshops :
- Awaken curiosity and a taste for science through scientific approaches
- Encourage meetings between students and researchers
- Develop citizen reflection on the challenges of science (critical thinking education)
- Promote the University and the world of research
- Promoting scientific studies
2. Registration process
The workshops are free and open to classes and school groups. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the school. For colleges in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, part of the cost of transport can be reimbursed as part of the Educational Actions.

The teacher registers his class for a thematic workshop (link to the "Register for a workshop" tab). The Scientific Culture Unit will propose the complementary workshop according to the class project.
The workshop schedule is organized according to the availability of researchers and students' schedules. The Scientific Culture Unit contacts teachers after their registration on the website to set a workshop date.
3. Access to the site
The AMU Workshops are held on the Saint Charles campus, 3 place Victor Hugo, Marseille 3rd.
AMU workshops are accessible by public transport: Metro L1 or L2, Saint Charles station
or Bus n°82S, stop at Faculté St Charles. Parking options for school buses are considered on a case-by-case basis.
