The CISAM+ project, which plans to open new Cities of Innovation and Knowledge on its campuses in Aix and Marseille. In the first two years of the project, Â鶹tv plans to create three CISAM+ branches on the Technopole de l'Arbois, La Timone, and Joseph Aiguier campuses, the CNRS site in Marseille. The next four will arrive a little later on the Saint-Jérôme and Luminy campuses, at IMERA in Parc Longchamp and finally on the Robert Schuman campus in Aix-en-Provence.
Today, the CISAM initiative is consolidated, both in terms of its location within the territory, the operationality of its model and its economic stability. To strengthen this last aspect, AMU and its scientific partners (CNRS, Inserm, AP HM, CEA, Ecole Centrale Marseille, IRD, Sciences Po Aix, etc.) applied for the "ExcellencEs" call for projects within the framework of the PIA 4 ExcellencEs program through the CISAM+ project and obtained an allocation of 40 million euros.
The winning project confirms the relevance of this Totem site, which responds through innovation to the socio-economic, environmental and health challenges of its territory. It is also a continuation of CISAM, whose model it will replicate through the creation of seven new thematic branches (health, sustainable development, cultural and creative industries) on the AMU and CNRS campuses in Aix en Provence and Marseille. This development will enable the cluster to strengthen its innovation training activities for students by disseminating the culture and skills of high-impact innovation within the framework of academic courses and modules. It will also provide greater support for innovation by offering a full range of innovation services (design office, design in partnership with the Ecole Condé, prototyping, awareness-raising, detection, etc.) to researchers, students and socio-economic and cultural actors. Finally, CISAM+ encourages open innovation between project leaders and the various players in its ecosystem. This reaffirms AMU as a reference in open innovation in the region.
