OBS4CLIM - Integrated Atmospheric Observation System - is an 18-partner project coordinated by CNRS, aimed at developing innovation in the three French components of European atmospheric research infrastructures: ACTRIS, IAGOS and ICOS.
OBS4CLIM is the EquipEx project of the entire national atmospheric community, and will enable the three French mirror IRs (ACTRIS-FRANCE, IAGOS-FRANCE, ICOS-FRANCE) to meet the new challenges of Earth observation and provide their users with qualified and relevant data sets, as well as innovative services.
Objectives
- Enhance the attractiveness of atmospheric research platforms and promote access to them.
- Consolidate the capacity of atmospheric IRs to provide data and products that meet user needs.
- Prepare IRs to meet the future challenges of global observation.
4 Intervention themes
The project is organized into 4 Actions:
- Action 1: Support in-situ observations to validate satellite data.
- Action 2: Strengthen the provision of data and services for air quality, climate and meteorological services.
- Action 3: Extend the spatial and temporal coverage of observations and complete research platforms.
- Action 4: Prepare IRs for new observation technologies.
