France 2030 - HIPE project

dircom-tuile-hipe

HIPE will enable the development of comprehensive, state-of-the-art equipment covering body composition (bone, muscle, water, fat...) and dynamic and systematic functional assessments (strength, speed, endurance...) as well as metabolic, behavioral, biological marker and imaging assessments. It also includes innovative facilities (climatic and calorimetric chamber; and ballistic ergometer/strength/speed machine as medical devices).

The year 2023 was marked by several significant developments. In April, the partnership with the Institut Paoli Calmette was confirmed. The University of Toulon also gave its agreement in October. The CNRS validated the partnership with INEE as the main institute, with INSIS, INS2I and INSB as secondary supervisory bodies. AP-HM is a partner in this project. We have decided to expand our Operational Committee to include a new "ecology/environment/health" axis, to be led by ADES. This direction is particularly important today, in a context of global warming, environmental issues (pollution, allergies, etc.) and the need to study the impact of this context on physical activity and sport. We have also received authorization from the ARS for our research premises in August 2023. This authorization allows us to conduct all kinds of research involving the human body (RIPH 1, 2 and 3).

With regard to the development of our project, several entities have expressed an interest in joining us and becoming part of our research support unit. These entities are IUSTI (UMR CNRS/amU), ADES (UMR CNRS, EFS, amU), and the LBA (Gustave Eiffel, amU). Since the start of the 2023/2024 academic year, we have been working with Aix Marseille Université's physiotherapy school to host trainees. With regard to investments in 2023, the main investment was our calorimetric and climatic chamber.
