1. MissionsThe role of the
prevention advisor/director for health, safety and the environment at the Université d'Aix-Marseille is to advise and assist the President and the institution's governing body in implementing legislation and regulations on occupational health and safety, environmental protection and fire safety. Together with the vice-president in charge of occupational health and safety, and in collaboration with other players (occupational physicians, occupational health and safety inspectors, consultative bodies), he/she contributes to the development of AMU's prevention policy.
The department coordinates and coordinates the network of prevention assistants, in liaison with the prevention advisors of partner EPSTs; these local players play an important role in raising awareness, informing and training staff and students joining the research unit. Within the DHSE, the Prevention Division (consisting of its manager and risk prevention engineers) is tasked with:
- Preventing hazards likely to compromise the health and safety of staff members,
- Proposing improvements to working methods and the working environment,
- Advancing knowledge of safety problems and techniques for resolving them,
- Ensuring that health and safety registers are properly kept in all departments,
- Supporting prevention assistants in their risk assessment process and the drafting of the single document.
The prevention department assists and advises the deans and directors of the various departments in implementing policies to prevent occupational risks and protect the environment at each of the University's sites. They inform and train staff, and coordinate the network of prevention assistants in the assessment of professional risks.
