The Transformation de la formation par la recherche (TFR) initiative, launched by Amidex in collaboration with the France 2030 TIGER project, aims to renew the master's level training offer by structuring the course more around research.
This approach is aimed at all master's and engineering degree programs on the Aix-Marseille site that wish to initiate or pursue this transformation process, enabling students to gain a better understanding of the ecosystem in which they are evolving.
Target audience
> The teaching teams of all national "M" level degrees (masters, engineering degrees) at the Aix-Marseille site: Aix Marseille Université, Centrale Marseille & Sciences Po Aix.
Project leaders must submit their applications in consultation with the institutional institutes (France 2030) and/or components (France 2030 and IdEx) who will support them in their implementation.
Objectives
The aim of the TFR approach is to transform the Master's level curriculum by strengthening links with the world of research, focusing on one or more areas of reinforcement:
- Research : introduce Master's students to research to ensure more effective training and the acquisition of new skills.
- Internationalization: increase the international experience of Master's students through mobility, and develop the international strategy of curricula.
- Link with the Socio-Economic and Cultural World (MSE&C): multiply opportunities for Master's students to work with MSE&C players.
TFR aims to encourage courses to structure themselves through research, as part of the transformation trajectory initiated by the France 2030 TIGER project for all master's-level courses on the site.
Thus, courses associated with institutional institutes will benefit from funding from the France 2030 program via the TIGER project. Pathways associated with a component will benefit from funding from the Amidex foundation (IdEx).
Transformation trajectory
The transformation dynamic proposed by the call for projects will take place progressively, in 3 phases, depending on the progress of the pathway:
- Support phase
- Transformation phase
- Labeling phase
Each phase corresponds to a set of prerequisites ("common base"; "stage 1"; "stage 2") and possible funding to prepare for the transition to the next phase. The aim is to achieve TIGER certification in a maximum of 5 years.
At the time of registration, the course must be positioned in one of the three phases.
Details of the phases of the training offer transformation trajectory, sources of funding and expectations are defined in the framework text.
How to register in the TFR process
To register your Master's degree in the TFR process (and ultimately obtain TIGER certification), you need to follow the steps below:
Stage 1: Modification of training offers (January 6 to March 15)
Master's courses modify and send their TFR training models to DIRFOR. The software will check the TFR indicators according to the phases and reinforcements chosen.
Stage 2: Updating of TFR needs files by component (January 15 to March 15)
TIGER asks component TFR referents to update candidate courses for TFR 25.
Stage 3: Collection of additional indicators (February 10 to March 15)
Each Master's course completes a declarative form to provide additional indicators for PACÔME modeling. Each course must complete this form individually and in consultation with its component.
Stage 4: Evaluation of applications (March 3 to April 27)
Applications will be evaluated by the TIGER operational team and the project governance committee.
The deadline for finalizing modifications to the training offer in PACOME is April 24.
Stage 5 (July 2025): Notification of results to courses
The responses and funding proposed for each course will have been presented to the AMIDEX Steering Committee.
The institute of establishment (France 2030) and/or the component to which the candidate pathway is attached (IDEX) will have confirmed their agreement to launch the pathway's transformation project, as well as their capacity to take charge of its administrative management.
It will therefore be essential for the course to consult with these players beforehand.
To this end, a meeting between the TIGER team and the TFR referents (presentation of the timetable and stages with questions/answers) will be organized on February 4.
Timetable
The Café TIGER is an informal online discussion in the form of questions/answers with the TIGER operational team and the A*MIDEX Foundation's Training & Scientific Mediation Project Manager. No agenda, no support: the floor is yours.
