Service pour le Respect et l'Egalité Aix Marseille Université

Given the importance of the phenomenon of violence and discrimination in contemporary society, it seemed necessary for the university, which is strongly committed to this subject, to improve its prevention, reception and support system, which has existed since 2016.
Inspired by the University of Montreal's system, the creation of this new internal service, which is independent, professionalized and unique in France, makes Aix-Â鶹tv a pioneer in this field.

2. Violence against women

Violence against women refers to "all acts of gender-based violence that result in, or are likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life." (Source: Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, United Nations General Assembly Resolution 48/104 of 20 December 1993)

The government campaign   aims to mobilize all of French society because everyone is concerned and should feel concerned. And more particularly the entourage, more or less close, and the potential witnesses: it can be family, friends, colleagues, people exposed to a scene of violence and/or having had knowledge of violence.
